Bioi'm 19 years old and already i need to start over.
two decades in and you try to find yourself everywhere; in the songs you hear and the words you write and the way you speak.
so far to go and you try to believe that you'll make it. that you understand it.
you are not pretentious. you are not selfish. you are almost beautiful, but sometimes it's hard to see yourself in the mirror. instead you see pieces. a mistake there, a less-than-acceptable here, ignorance in abundance, intelligence in remission.
so you let your eyes blur. see not quite so much, and think even less.
you think the poetry is coming back to you, and then you lose it as soon as you sit down to catch it.
you think the poetry is coming back to you but you never can be sure what IT is.
you think the poetry is coming back to you but then you remember you're only 19 years in with decades more to realize the rhythm, the brilliance, the perfection in life.
